How do two people manage to keep a website running when there's only 1 laptop between 5? And that one is borrowed?
We borrowed our laptop off my mother-in-law so that my wife could look for work. Whilst she was doing that, I was signed off sick and the website was born. We have been using the laptop to manage the site, at the same time as doing everything else. Two worries - one, the friction having one laptop causes, and two, what happens to the website if my mother in law asks for the pc back?
We had to make a decision. We looked at everything available to us and realised we could afford none of them! Then we happened up on these beauties in the Littlewoods catalogue. Able to pay just £3 per week, it was viable and it would mean we were self sufficient and able to both work at the same time. So we purchased one each - it is 10 cigarettes a week less each.
Wow! The netbook is tiny - just a 10" screen - but that's the only thing about this computer that's tiny. Its as quick as my mother in law's 17" Compaq laptop. It has a quick processor, it allows me to use all of the programs I need to use and it had 150GB hard drive. Any more space that I require can be given with an external hard drive or memory stick. Ok the netbook does not have a CD drive, but any drivers or setup programs can be downloaded off the net anyway.
It comes with Windows 7 Start up and a whole host of other software, which is downloaded when you first start up your pc. I can browse happily, whilst running IE8 with 7 or 8 windows open and word processing or compiling videos for You Tube. Its fantastic. The screen space is sufficient for use for all of the software I use and the processor speed means that it copes admirably with the rigors of daily use.
All in all a package that gives great value for money, and, after only coming out in February 2010, up to the date technology. If you want a lightweight alternative to your work horse, or want to trade the big one in for a better, slimmer, lighter model with bigger b... bit power and a gorgeous modern look, then this is the guy for you!! They really are great computers for everyday use. If you are a video compiler, or serious gamer, or graphic designer, then you need a better spec - but for web hosting, web design, basic video compiling, word processing and the like the Samsung Netbook N150 is just the ticket!!
